Christmas time is here.

This poem is about how Christmas has changed as I have grown up and life has happened.

Tis the season to be jolly,
Christmas time is here.
Now I may sound like Charlie Brown,
but should we feel only cheer?

Holidays are hardest,
when you look around the table
and you see the family who is there,
and the family who isn't able.

Holidays are hardest
cause that's when we should all be close.
But when someone is missing,
that's when you miss them most.

When you look at old Christmas pictures
you see how much you can forget.
Yes, I believe that she's in heaven,
but I'm not in heaven yet.

So holidays are hardest
because the family sees the hole.
We hear her missing voice
and the empty chair takes its toll.

So stay close to your families
for this happy time of year,
'cause each day is a precious gift
and we don't know how long we'll be here.

Let's deck the halls and be like elf
and sing carols with all of our might.
Twas the night before Christmas, but Guela is gone.
So it feels like a silent night.
